With only four racers, the Steven K Sports National Professional Racing Team is small in number but powerful in skill. They have made a name for themselves in the pro sports world and continue to prove that they are a force to be reckoned with. The California based quad constantly tops the charts; they have been the #1 ranked pro mountain bike team in the state five years in a row!
This tight-knit team began with cycling races in 1990 and has since expanded to compete in many sports including running, kayaking, swimming, and snowshoeing. The team also balances a business side that incorporates team management, marketing, and product development. But, true to their roots, biking is where they shine. They compete across the country, and two of their riders were part of the World Team in 2004 and 2006.
“Our team goals are to win every race we enter and to increase the growth of mountain biking with trail maintenance and cycling clinics,” said Pro Team Captain Steven Kinney.
Accomplishments:
2009- #1 overall in the Cal State Mountain Bike Championships Pro Super D.
2009- #1 overall in the Cal State Mountain Bike Championships XC.
2009- #1 Professional Mountain Bike Race Team in CA 5 years in a row!
-Dave Santos won the Cat-1 Super D with the fastest time of the day. He also won the California State Road Championships and the California State Cross-Country race.
-Eric Bierman and Dave Santos are current California State Champions.
-Michelle Rivera is the #1 Pro Woman Super D in the U.S, the #4 Downhill Rider in the U.S., and #1 Downhill rider in California two years in row.
-Eric Bierman is #1 overall in the California state Pro Super D, a title has had held for five years in a row. He also won the Southridge winter series Super D & XC, and the Rim Nordic Super D Series overall by winning every race in the series.
-Team Captain Steve Kinney is #3 overall in the California state Pro Super D, #5 overall in the California state Pro Cross-Country, and #3 overall in the Conquer the Bear race series, the toughest multisport race series in North America.
